Commander Says Arbitrary Sanctions Account For Threat To National Sovereignty

Tehran, Aug 7, IRNA -- Deputy chief of staff the Armed Forces Brigadier-General Massoud Jazayeri said on Tuesday that the arbitrary sanctions account for threat to national sovereignty. Speaking on the sidelines of the conference on World Assembly of Islamic Peace, he said that the enemies are pursuing arbitrary sanctions on Iranian economy and culture which account for hostile approach to threaten national sovereignty. He called for close cooperation of the government and people to thwart the threats. Iran's military might has deterred the enemies to take any action against the country and this could be regarded as a wining card for Iran. There is no room for any setback in military, economy, politics, foreign policy, science and technology fields as Islam with reliance on God will be the winner, he said. When the enemies have entered into the scene with full power, it should be dealt with full power as well, he said. He said that The US tries to meddle in our domestic affairs while interfering in regional developments mainly in western Asia, but to no avail. The Americans and Zionist regime are not able to control the conflicts erupted in western Asia and their efforts to this end will go nowhere, he said./end
