Conspiracies Fail To Weaken Foundations Of Islamic Revolution: Religious Leader

Islamabad, Feb 1, IRNA – Leader of Pakistan’s top religious party, praising the success of the Islamic Revolution, said on Friday that the western conspiracies to weaken foundations of Islamic Revolution have failed. Talking to IRNA, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Secretary General Liaqat Baloch said that Islamic Revolution is the outcome of the struggle of Imam Khomeini against the imperialist forces. He extended heartiest felicitations to the government and people of Iran on the 35th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution and said the Revolution is a source of inspiration for the whole world. ˈImam Khomeini was a great leader who brought the Islamic Revolution with the support of Iranian people,ˈ the JI leader said. Expressing his views, Baloch said that the Iranian leadership and people are committed towards the Islamic Revolution that is why they have achieved the status of a respectable nation. The political leader went on to say that Imam Khomeini had established the Islamic Republic on the principles of Islam and shown to the world that politics and religion are interlinked. He said that the Islamic Revolution has dispelled many misconceptions against Islam and depicted the true face of Islam. “Imam Khomeini gave a true concept of Islam and set an example for the other Muslims countries,” he added. He said that since the success of the Islamic Revolution western states have been trying to weaken the Islamic Republic but failed to accomplish their evil plots so far. The politician added that Islamic Revolution has made Iran much stronger and self-sufficient. “They are not dependent on other countries for their needs,ˈ he noted. The JI Secretary General said that today Iran under the guidance of Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei is developing in all sectors. He said that Iran is moving forward at a great pace and has been working closely with the world community. Iranian leadership is fully aware of the developments at the international level and taking steps which are in the interest of the Islamic Republic. Baloch said that Islamic Revolution is flourishing and would further strengthen in times to come. He congratulated the people of Iran and their government for upholding the torch of Imam Khomeini./end
