Cooperation between Moscow and Beijing became important stabilizing factor for whole world, Lavrov says

MOSCOW, April 5. /TASS/. Cooperation between Russia and China became an important factor for providing stability on the global scene, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said ahead of his meeting with Chinese Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi. "Russian-Chinese relations have seen unprecedented development for three decades. Comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation with China is a priority for Russia’s foreign policy and, I think, as our leaders repeatedly stated, Russian-Chinese cooperation is a role model of relations between major states," he said. "The Russia-China tandem is one of the most important stabilizing factors in global deals," Lavrov stressed. The Russian foreign minister added that the year 2017 was marked with the strengthening of the Russian-Chinese ties. "Our relations have a global and truly strategic character," he continued. "Moscow and Beijing show an example of a weighted and responsible approach to the solution of current international problems and are effectively cooperating in various international formats, chiefly in the UN and also in the SCO, BRICS, G20, East Asia Summits, the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia and other formats."
