Current situation, old Zionist scheme to disintegrate Mideast: Lebanese politician

Beirut, Nov 12, IRNA – Former speaker of the Lebanese parliament Hussain al-Hussaini said the current developments in the Middle East are the outcomes of old Zionist regime schemes to disintegrate the region. Making the remarks in a meeting with the Iranian ambassador to Beirut Mohammad Fathali in Beirut, he said the Zionist regime has been planning for disintegration of the region since 1970s. Al-Hussaini said the Zionist regime has been working on its scheme using the assistance and financial support of its international allies. He also said Israel has always been searching for new ways to protect its security. At the present juncture, he added, the Zionist regime thinks disintegrating and fragmenting regional countries and fanning the flames of internal differences are the best methods to achieve the goal. The Lebanese politician further said that the Zionist regime is plotting to establish a racist puppet regime in the occupied territories. He also discussed regional developments and situation in Lebanon with the Iranian ambassador. Fathali stressed the need for regional nations to stay vigilant against the Zionist regime's policies to saw discord among them. He stressed unity and solidarity among regional nations as the only way for them to achieve victory.
