Cypriot leaders and UN secretary general to hold trilateral meeting

UNITED NATIONS (A.A) - October 30, 2011 - Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot leaders will have a trilateral meeting with the United Nations (UN) secretary general in New York on Sunday. President Dervis Eroglu of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias and UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will meet for a trilateral meeting in Long Island, New York. This will be the fourth trilateral meeting among Ban, Eroglu and Christofias. UN spokesperson Martin Nesirky told reporters that the trilateral meetings would last for two days and end on October 31.  Ban's Special Adviser on Cyprus Alexander Downer is expected to brief reporters at the end of today's meeting, whereas Ban is set to speak to reporters at the end of the second day.  Secretary General Ban had three trilateral meetings with Eroglu and Christofias on November 18, 2010; January 26, 2011; and July 7, 2011.  TRNC President Eroglu is expected to depart from New York on Wednesday.
