Day of Songun of DPRK Marked in Myanmar, Poland

Pyongyang, August 29 (KCNA) -- Celebrations and film shows were held in Myanmar and Poland on Aug. 23 and 24 on the occasion of the 56th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership. Korean films introducing the Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace, the Rungna People's Pleasure Park, etc. were shown at the film shows. The vice-director of the Yangon Institute for Sports and Physical Exercise of Myanmar said that HE Kim Jong Il remarkably strengthened the country's defense capabilities with his original Songun politics and made immortal contributions to the global peace and safety, adding that the Korean people and world progressive humankind boundlessly respect him. The chief of the Polish Branch of the Korean Friendship Association and other speakers praised Kim Jong Il for reliably defending the country's sovereignty and dignity by achieving one victory after another in an acute politico-military standoff with the U.S. imperialists. They said the DPRK is a military power with a powerful nuclear deterrent and firmly protecting the regional peace and security by Songun, expressing the belief that the Korean people would register bigger successes in building a socialist power under the leadership of Marshal Kim Jong Un. -0-
