DEFENCE MINISTER RECEIVES SECRETARY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE OF THE PHILIPPINES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ Minister of Defence N.Enkhbold received Delfin Lorenzana, Secretary of National Defense of the Philippines on July 6. Minister N.Enkhbold stressed that cooperation in defence sector between Mongolia and the Philippines is crucial for strengthening military trust and mutual understanding, and improving capacity of the armed forces in the region. Mr Delfin Lorenzana conveyed gratitude to the Military staff of Mongolia for their regular participation in the peacekeeping trainings and exercises in the Philippines and expressed aspiration to deepen bilateral cooperation, learn from Mongolia’s experience in peacekeeping operations and further involve their military staff in joint exercises in Mongolia. Two sides underlined that the military staff of the two countries jointly participate in regional training exercises and UN peacekeeping operations and share experiences. Thus, they agreed to work further on improving military tranings and peacekeeping operations, sharing informations regarding defence and regional security and developing defence ties and cooperation.
