Deputy FM calls for 5+1’s practical measures on JCPOA implementation

TEHRAN, May 03 (MNA) – Iran’s deputy FM Takht Ravanchi has urged the 5+1 to take practical measures to fulfill obligations in the framework of the nuclear deal. Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development of France Christian Masset, who has travelled to Iran to launch the first round of political dialogues between deputy foreign ministers of the two countries, met and talked with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Euro-American Affairs Majid Takht Ravanchi on Monday. The two sides at the meeting discussed venues for expansion and reinvigoration of bilateral ties between the two countries. Iran’s Deputy FM pointed to the commitments of the Islamic Republic of Iran in implementing the JCPOA emphasizing “the 5+1 group of countries also need to do the same in a way that Iranian nation will witness the tangible results of execution of the nuclear deal.” Takht Ravanchi pointed to the successful visit of the Iranian President to France and the signing of agreements in various sectors saying “the grounds have been prepared for Iran and France to develop cooperation in numerous fields.” The official further expressed Iran’s readiness to collaborate with France in various political arenas including regional issues. France’s Christian Masset, for his part, said Paris would welcome bolstering of bilateral and regional relations with Iran as an influential country; “we expect economic cooperation to get boosted with the removal of banking obstacles.” Pointing to the status of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region, the French official attached importance to Tehran and Paris cooperation for countering terrorists' threats and resolution of regional issues. The first round of Iran-France political dialogues were held in Paris during the visit of Iran’s President Rouhani to the European country while the Tehran summit marks the first round of talks at deputy foreign minister level.
