Deputy FM Slams US New Anti-Iran Sanctions

Tehran, Sept 2, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister Hassan Qashqavi condemned the new sanctions imposed by the US against Iran. ˈThe new US sanctions are continuation of failed policies of the Americans towards Iran,ˈ Qashqavi said. He noted that the historical experience shows that whenever an ideological whenever an ideological outlook has been deployed to serve Iranˈs national sovereignty and territorial integrity, it has helped to prevent the countryˈs disintegration. ˈWhether we consider the new sanctions of the US in contradiction to the soul or text of the Geneva agreement or we deem them as the consequence of the US internal pressures or a test of the policies of Iranian officials, there is no doubt this measure by US officials on the threshold of the bilateral and multilateral talks between Iran and the member-states of the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France, Britain and Germany) ruins the confidence and is clear continuation of the previous failed policies of the US vis-à-vis Iran,ˈ the deputy foreign minister added./end
