DEPUTY FOREIGN MINISTER MEETS ILO COUNTRY DIRECTOR

Ulaanbaatar/MONTSAME/ On May 22, Claire Courteille-Mulder, incoming Director of the International Labor Organization (ILO) Country Office for Mongolia, presented her credentials to Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister B.Battsetseg at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ms Battsetseg welcomed Ms Claire Courteille-Mulder and exchanged views on current cooperation of the ILO and celebration activities of 50th anniversary of Mongolia’s membership to the ILO this year. The Deputy Minister highlighted the effective outcomes of the Mongolia-ILO cooperation, implementing certain projects on ensuring people’s rights of engaging in employment, creating new legal environment for labor relations, defining labor sector policy and developing social partnership. In turn, Ms Claire noted an active cooperation between Mongolia and the ILO and expressed her commitment to work for intensifying this cooperation by means of realizing many kinds of ILO conventions, which determined labor criteria, and strenthening national capacity. She also informed that it has launched the project ‘Sustaining GSP-Plus Status by Strengthened National Capacities to Improve ILS Compliance and Reporting-Mongolia Phase 2’.
