Deputy head of Vietnamese Central Steering Committee applauds judicial reforms in Azerbaijan

Baku, July 3, AZERTAC Deputy head of Vietnamese Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform Le Thi Thu Ba has hailed the what the Azerbaijani government is doing to improve the country`s judicial system. "We are well aware of the successful reforms of conducted in the legal and judicial system in Azerbaijan," said Ms Thu Ba as she met Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov on the second day of her visit to Baku. "We are interested in benefiting from Azerbaijan`s experience in this sphere. And we have already held fruitful discussions in Baku," she said. Ms Thu Ba said Vietnam is keen to strengthen relations with Azerbaijan, and praised the country`s assistance to Vietnam during the Soviet Union. Speaker Asadov noted that reciprocal visits play an important role in expanding the relations, expressing hope that Ms Thu Ba`s trip "will give a push to the development of the cooperation between the law-enforcement agencies as well". He underlined the importance of inter-parliamentary relations, and stressed the necessity of expanding the bilateral economic cooperation. Mr. Asadov also highlighted the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "Yerevan continues its aggressive policy despite resolutions of the United Nations, OSCE, Council of Europe, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and other international organizations demanding withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories." The Speaker said Azerbaijan supports peaceful settlement of the conflict based on principles and norms of international law.
