Deputy Majlis Speaker: President Represented High Status Of Iran At UNGA

Mashhad, Khorasan Razavi Prov, Sept 29, IRNA – Deputy Majlis Speaker Mohammad-Hassan Abutorabifard said on Saturday that President Hassan Rohani represented high status of the Islamic Republic of Iran at the 68th UN General Assembly. On the arbitrary sanctions imposed by the western governments on Iran, he said that if such sanctions were imposed on the most powerful countries, they would certainly surrender. He called the western sanctions on Iran as “futile” and advised the adversaries to put away their hostile policies toward Tehran and respect the Iranian nation instead. Referring to remarks by a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) of the United States who have said that Iranian rational strategy in the region has brought regional influence for the country, Abutorabifard said that this strategy has been ushered in by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khameni and has turned the country to a political power of the region./end
