DEPUTY MINISTER MEETS INDONESIAN AMBASSADOR

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Defense Deputy Minister A.Battor last Friday met with the Ambassador of Indonesia to Mongolia Mr Sugeng Rahardjo. After the Deputy Minister congratulated Mr Rahardjo for being appointed as such, the parties shared views on defense relationship and cooperation of the two countries. Mr Battor pointed out possibilities of such a cooperation between the two countries, citing the facts that the Armed Forces of Indonesia have been taking part in the Khan Quest, multinational peacekeeping exercises in Mongolia, and that the Military Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing has become in charge of Mongolian affairs concurrently. He also noted that a memorandum of cooperation between the two defense ministries has been submitted to the Indonesian part. The Mongolian Deputy Minister briefed on Mongolia’s participation in the United Nations’ peacekeeping and other international activities, on its current state, before noting that peacekeeping training centers of the two countries have great opportunity to cooperate further in educational exchanges and experience-sharing. The newly-appointed Ambassador thanked Mr Battor for this meeting and promised a support in further defense cooperation, and approval of the above-mentioned memorandum of cooperation in near time. He also highlighted that the two countries have chances to work together in directions of defense industry union and peacekeeping.
