Director General Of IAEA Safeguards Arrives In Tehran

Tehran, Jan 18, IRNA – Deputy Director General of IAEA Department of safeguards Massimo Aparo arrived in Tehran on Saturday morning. Aparo, who is heading Department of Safeguards for B region of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), in which Iran is located, arrived in Tehran heading a delegation. Iran's Atomic Energy Organizations Spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi told IRNA that Aparo is to talk with Iranian related officials on Saturday on the first step of implementation of Geneva agreement. Kamalvandi added that IAEA's inspectors delegation under leadership of Aparo will report Iran's voluntary acts on January 20, 2014 and the first step of the Geneva joint plan action will start officially. He stressed that upon the obligations, it is due that Group 5+1 start its actions on the same day including lifting the sanctions. Upon the agreement in Geneva, from January 20 a number of sanctions against Iran must be lifted and Tehran by implementing a number of voluntary acts is to remove concerns of the other side. Iran's senior member of nuclear negotiating team with Group 5+1 Abbas Araqchi said that an amount of 4.2 billion dollars of Iran's blocked money will be released in eight installments upon a time table and. Upon Geneva joint plan of action, Group 5+1 should stop efforts to decrease purchase of Iran's crude oil and suspend EU and US sanctions on insurance and transportation services. Group 5+1 is also committed to suspend sanctions on petrochemicals, gold and valuable metals, car industry and airplane spare parts as well as related services. Iran will suspend its 20 percent enrichment of uranium voluntarily, but its enrichment to 5 percent will continue./end
