Double Standards In US Anti-terrorism Hype

Tehran, Sept 16, IRNA – It is widely held by political analysts that the United States is planning to come back to the region to put forward its interests, this time under the guise of fighting against the terrorist group Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also knows as Daesh). The same analysts maintain that the US double standard practices against terrorism in Iraq and Syria intend to launch a new massive war in the troubled region of the Middle East while it has been behind formation of the ISIL. Without securing a UN mandate or the permission of Syrian government, US President Barack Obama entered into negotiations with its regional allies with a past record of supporting terrorists, claiming that Washington is after supporting the so-called moderate opposition in Syrian. Amid the opposition of Washington, Iran rebuffed taking part at a US-led anti-terror conference held in Paris on Monday. It is believed that the event and a previous one in Saudi Arabia aimed at providing more room for US meddling in the region, specially in Syria. Analyzing the US roadmap and President Obama's statements on his country's strategy against terrorism reveal that the coalition will not target Daesh rather topple the Syrian government With the passage of 40 months into the crisis in Syria, the US, the West and regional allies of the US could not bring Syria under a United Nations Security Council resolution. Therefore, they have resorted to apparently legitimate means to attacks Sryia." In the meantime, the US-Saudi links are questioning. While the White House has approached Congress on ratifying training of "moderate" Syrian opposition, three are news coming from Saudi Arabia that Riyadh is considering providing bases for anti-government rebels. Keeping silence on terrorist groups such as the Al-Nusrah Front and the self-declared Freedom Army in Syria which were born together with Daesh and supporting them financially and militarily are eye-openers to Obama's lies and double standards. It goes without saying that any US military operation in Syria without UN Security Council authorization and the consent of the government in Damascus is tantamount to aggression and violation of Syria's sovereignty./end
