DP FACTION AGREES TO PROHIBIT IMPORT OF USED TIRES

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Democratic Party's faction at parliament held Tuesday its regular meeting. After the chief of the Presidential Office P.Tsagaan briefed on a draft bill of amendments to the law on Air, the faction agreed to transfer the management of the issues regarding an air pollution combating to the authorities of the Prime Minister, noting that more attention should be paid to introduction of the coking coal in use of households, in order to curb the pollution. As another solution to the pollution matters, the democrats suggested a prohibition on imports of used/second hand tires that some time after, ger districts' residents often burn to produce heat, contributing greatly to the air pollution. After that, the Mining Minister D.Gankhuyag briefed on a draft bill of amendments to the Law on Minerals and the Law on making gold trade transparent. The faction agreed not to reduce the tax on gold and not to use the increase royalties. The meeting did not discuss the resignation request of R.Amarjargal MP. During the meeting, this week’s agenda of the parliamentary session and Standing committees meetings were introduced, before the PM Altankhuyag’s briefing on the Government’s agenda for last and this weeks.
