Dy FM confers with Lebanese political leader Hassan Nasrullah

Beirut, Sept 2, IRNA – Visiting Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian conferred on Wednesday with the Lebanese Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrullah on regional developments. In the meeting, the Lebanese political leader once again expressed pleasure with clinching the nuclear deal between Iran and G5+1 and the significant achievement of Iran in acquiring and maintaining nuclear science and technology. He expressed indignation at the war crimes perpetrated by the Israeli regime against the Palestinians. Nasrullah said that the Israeli regime will continue with aggression and expansionism, and that the Lebanese resistance movement will thwart the threats posed to Lebanon. Nasrullah underlined Tehran's significant role in restoring regional security and fight against terrorists and extremism. The Lebanese resistance and political leader said that the governments in the region must help restore security and stability of the entire region by fighting with Takfiri terrorists. The Islamic Republic of Iran has always backed the security and stability of Lebanon, Nasrullah said. Iran underlines national unity in Lebanon and fully backs exchange of views and dialogues between political groups in resolving disputes, he said. Iran believes that foreign intervention will escalate tension in the region, Amir-Abdollahian said adding that governments in the region should exercise vigilance in their campaign against the plots hatched by the Zionist regime. Islamic states should exercise insight to deal with those engaged in war, terrorism and extremism, he said. Amir-Abdollahian met with a number of senior Lebanese officials on mutual and regional issues.
