Dy FM: Expanding Ties With African States Among Iranˈs Strategies

Tehran, Feb 25, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Monday that expansion of relations with African countries is among Iranˈs strategies. Abdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with the Speaker of the Comoros Parliament Burhan Hamid in Tehran on Monday. Abdollahian also called for enhancement of relations with African countries and said there are ample grounds for promotion of regional and international cooperation between the two sides. The stands adopted by Iran and Comoros on Palestine and its oppressed nation should be lauded, Amir Abdollahian said. Development of Comoros and independence of most African states indicates the significance of campaign against extremism around the globe which requires collective contribution of Islamic states mainly the African ones, he said. For his part, the Commoros top MP lauded Iranˈs sustainable stability and development in recent years. Referring to cultural commonalities between the two countries, he called on Iran to render more scientific and educational services to Comoros./end
