Dy FM: PGCC expected to prevent civil war in Yemen

Tehran, March 22, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister for the Arab-African Affairs said on Sunday that the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) is expected to make efforts to bring national reconciliation in Yemen and prevent terrorist acts and civil war in the country. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that that resigned Yemen President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi is expected to play a constructive role and the rival parties must exercise self-restraint to prevent disintegration of Yemen and turning Aden to a safe haven for the terrorists. He underlined that terrorism does not know Ansarallah or Mansour Hadi, but they intend to destroy Yemen and massacre all groups and countries of the region. The deputy foreign minister said that instrumental use of terrorism by the rival parties in the region, especially in Yemen, would be a strategic mistake, and will endanger security of the region. He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is committed to the international campaign against terrorism, and that Iran will support Yemen in its way to confront terrorism, complete its political process and contribute to sustainable regional security. Amir-Abdollahian said that Iran supports holding national dialogue in Sana'a or any other agreed venue by the Yemeni parties is and that Tehran will continue with the regional and international consultations to strengthen political process in the country by cooperation of all Yemeni groups. 'We all should be aware that the occupying regime of Israel with its creeping and complicated moves is the main supporter of the terrorists.'
