Dy FM: Syria's National Dialog To Be Held Soon

Tehran, Oct 23, IRNA - Deputy Foreign Minister for Arab and African Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Monday Syria's national dialogue will be held in one of regional countries including Iran soon. He was speaking to reporters after a meeting between Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi and Russian especial envoy Michael Bagdanev in Tehran. Amirabdollahian said the Syrian people, tribes, political parties, opposition groups and government will have their own representatives to the dialogue. "Although some opposition parties refrain from participating in the dialogue but efforts are underway to persuade them to change their decision," he said. The deputy foreign minister described Salehi's meeting with the Russian envoy as fruitful and said Tehran and Moscow strongly support the Syrian people and President Bashar Assad's reform plan. Amirabdollahian said the talks with the Russian envoy mainly revolved aroud developments in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Bahrain and Palestine./end
