DyFM: Tehran-Moscow-Beijing to continue cooperation on Syria

Tehran, Nov 18, IRNA – Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and African Affairs Hussein Amir Abdullahian said that joint cooperation between Tehran, Beijing, and Moscow on Syria will continue seriously. According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Monday, China's Vice Minister of Foreign Minister Cheng Guoping, who is accompanying China's central politburo member Meng Jianzhu in his vist to Tehran, in a meeting with Hussein Amir Abdullahian, discussed regional developments. Concerning regional issues, the Iranian senior diplomat said fight against terrorism and radicalism are among issues to be cooperated on between the two countries. Referring to common policy of Tehran, Moscow and Beijing on Syria, Amir Abdullahian said that our joint efforts prevented Syria from being like Libya. He added that simultaneously with fight against terrorism, we should respond to Syrian president call for rebuilding the country. The Iranian DyFM said common policy of the three countries on Syria has been successful and this policy should continue and be strengthened. He also appreciated China's constructive efforts in nuclear talks. China's Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cheng Guoping, for his part, by referring to Iran's effective role in regional developments and good cooperation between Iran, China and Russia in these developments, proposed a regular mechanism for bilateral talks on the issues. He underlined Moscow and Beijing's support for Iran's right to use peaceful nuclear energy, adding that China and Russia are trying so that a final agreement between Iran and Group 5+1 is reached and sanctions are lifted./end
