EC Chairman: Daesh, Child Of Ignorance, Extremism

Tehran, June 17, IRNA - Chairman of the Expediency Council Ayatollah Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani said on Monday that the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) terrorist group known as Daesh, is the child of ignorance and extremism seeking to mar the Islam and world Muslims. Rafsanjani made the remarks in a meeting with a group of officials at Iranˈs Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization Monday morning. Being Sunni or Shia makes no difference to the terrorist group rather they are after massacring people and looting their assets, he said. Condemning the inhuman crimes of Daesh, Rafsanjani said the recent warning issued by Ulema indicates the importance of the issue, urging Muslim intellectuals to never let a group of ignorant people defame Muslims through their extremist policies./end
