EC secretary: Enemies trying to prevent Islam from emerging as new power

Tehran, Nov 2, IRNA - Secretary of the Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaei said on Saturday that the common goal of the enemies is to prevent Islam from emerging as a new power. There is no doubt that various ideologies along with big powers are doing their best to prevent formation of a new power named Islam, he said. Rezaei made the remarks in an exclusive interview published on Imam Khomeni news website. On unity among world Muslims, he said some of these powers are trying hard to prevent the spread of Islam, spareing no efforts to contain other spiritual thought such as Islamic Revolution, he said. Both Islam and Iran are under international pressures due to their influence on global developments, he said. They try to depict an unreal and unpleasant image of Islam and even attempt to provoke other religions against Islam and Iran, he said.
