EC Secretary: N-talks, Criteria For Assessing US Co-op Claim

Tehran, Oct 27, IRNA – Secretary of the Expediency Council Mohsen Rezaie says nuclear talks is the criteria for assessing sincerity of the US claims for cooperation with Iran. Talking to reporters, he said the nuclear talks are providing a good chance to make this assessment. He said Iran favored a two-sided and effective foreign policy but still believed there are some signs of disrespect for the Iranian nation on the part of the American side. He noted that the US representative to the talks should be aware that he is not to talk to the Iranian nation in the old fashion they used to do. He said Iran is awaiting to see whether the US is willing to lift anti-Iran sanctions and recognize Iran’s rights. He invited all to practice patience until the final outcome of talks emerges. Rezaie stressed the end to era when Iran practiced a unilateral and passive foreign policy and said now Tehran favors a foreign policy doctrine which is based on mutual respect./end
