Economic and Social Council of Arab League approves sanctions against Syria

CAIRO (A.A) - November 27, 2011 - Economic and Social Council of the Arab League has approved a decision imposing a series of sanctions on Syria. Economy and finance ministers approved late Saturday decisions aiming at ending violence in Syria and putting pressure on Syrian regime. The decisions will be presented to the meeting of foreign ministers of Arab League. Arab ministers are to vote on the decisions on Sunday. The proposals include the halting of dealings with the Syrian central bank, the suspension of commercial flights and financial affairs with Syria.
