ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT MINISTER MEETS JICA PRESIDENT

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ President of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) met with Economic Development Minister N.Batbayar on Wednesday. At the meeting, the sides talked about financing of up-building projects taking place in Mongolia. Mr Batbayar briefed on the current state of the economy of Mongolia, and shared views with Mr Tanaka on an airport construction project carried out in Khoshigt valley under a soft loan from Japan. The Minister expressed a willingness to finance a project of a high road from Ulaanbaatar to the airport with a similar soft loan from the Japanese part. Mr Tanaka said he will consider the above request, and informed the Minister on a project planned to render technical assistance to the Mongolian part after launching of the airport. Mr Batbayar also proposed the president of JICA to cooperate in ongoing ‘Street’ and ‘Soum’ projects of Mongolia, as well as in industry projects of metallurgical and steel-melting plants that have been running in preparation stages.
