Egypt fully understanding Russia’s stance on A321 crash, says President

CAIRO, November 19. /TASS/. Egypt fully understands the Russian authorities’ stance on the situation around the October 31 crash of the Russian jet A321 in the Sinai Peninsula, President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said on Thursday after the signing of an Egyptian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on building the country’s first nuclear power plant in Dabaa district. "Right after this tragedy (the crash of the A321 jet, widely believed to be caused by a bomb planted inside the plane -- TASS) we began to collaborate closely with the Russian side and we’re doing it in a fully transparent manner," el-Sisi said. "We fully understand Russia’s position in what concerns the crisis around the jet." In the light of it, he pointed out the durable time-tested links between the two countries, saying: "The agreement signed here today is an epistle reflecting the scope of relationship between Russia and Egypt." He once again called for joint international efforts to eliminate terrorism. "I’m saying to the leaderships of Russia and France, we stand together with you in the struggle with terror," el-Sisi said. Read more
