Egyptian National Resolve Should Be Respected: FM

Tehran, July 15, IRNA - Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi said on Sunday that Egyptian national resolve should be respected mainly under the current circumstances. He made the remarks in a meeting with members of parliament national security commission. He referred to the current developments in Egypt and involvement of the army in political issues, sacking the Egyptian democratically-elected president and composing transitional government. The Islamic Republic of Iran is to play active role to improve the Egyptian situation, he said. He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran condemns military involvement in politics and violence by the armed forces and will spare no efforts to help resolve the issue. Araqchi briefed the MPs about his visit to Myanmar as well./end
