Emirati FM Hails Iran-UAE Mutual Trust

Tehran, Aug 12, IRNA – A prominent Iranian Parliament member said here Sunday that constructive talks among domestic political groups of Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan, free from aliens interference, is the only solution to the ongoing crises in those countries. I hope these mutual feelings and this bilateral friendship will continue even after the end of your present responsibility, said the UAE foreign minister during phone conversation in which the two diplomats discussed bilateral ties and regional developments. According to the Public Relations and Media Affairs of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Salehi during the phone conversation referred to the bilateral cooperation in certain fields and the decisions adopted by the Iranian and Emirati governments and said they are proceeding on an appropriate path. The Iranian top diplomat expressed hope that the two countries relations would keep on progressing on the same favorable path so that by solving the existing problems and paving the required path, the ground will be paved for ever-more proximity of the two countries. During the phone call which was in response to a previous call by Salehi, the UAE Foreign Minister, for his part, also expressed hope that the two countries relations would further expand and deepen after coming to power of the new Iranian government in Iran. The developments in Egypt and Syria and the status of the Iranians residing in the United Arab Emirates were other topics of the talks between the two diplomats in their phone conversation. Iranian businesses have a major presence in the UAE. Around 8,000 Iranian traders and trading firms are registered in the Emirates, according to the local Iranian Business Council. Ethnic Iranians are estimated to account for roughly 10 percent of Dubais two-million population. Trade between Dubai and Iran tripled to $12 billion from 2005 to 2009.
