Enemies Aim To Annihilate Axis Of Resistance: Syrian Envoy

Tehran, July 2, IRNA – Syrian Ambassador to Tehran Adnan Mahmud said on Wednesday that Takfiri groups, terrorists and Zionist regime are two faces of one coin aiming at bringing the Axis of Resistance to its knees by creating crises in the region. Speaking to IRNA on the sidelines of a local gathering here, he made the remarks while commenting on the latest developments in the region. Referring to Syriaˈs new approach towards Palestine and the Zionist regime, Mahmud said Damascus will continue its support for the Palestinian nation. He added that Damascus was paying the price for supporting Palestine and the Axis of Resistance. Criticizing enemiesˈ claim about respecting democracy, he said if the Western states, US in particular, really want to respect democracy they should honor the will of the regional nations too while their only objective is to weaken the Axis of Resistance and strengthen the Zionist regime instead, said Ambassador Mahmud./end
