Enemy's Economic War Aimed At Taking Revenge On Iran : MP

Tehran, Dec 24, IRNA - An Iranian legislator said on Sunday that the current economic war is not against the (Iranian) government; rather it has targeted the entire nation and that the hegemonistic powers want to take revenge on the Iranian nation for their 33-year resistance and self-sacrifice. Ebrahim Karkhanei in an address to Majlis said, “The current reality of the country is that the enemy has designed an all-out economic war against Iran and has targeted our economic interests from different directions.” He added the importance of economic war is not less than military war, since in military war, a weapon targets only one point but the economic war has targeted the entire Iranian nation. Kharkhanei said that pressure on people, inflation and unemployment are the main impacts of economic war. "We can counter the enemy through might, self-sacrifice and fulfillment of resistance economy." “The mystery of victory in military war is the same as mystery of victory in the economic war. Obeying the leader, coordination between the government and the nation and strengthening the spirit of self-sacrifice has a decisive role in the victory of the country in economic war,” he stated. "In economic war tactful resistance will lead to undermining the enemy and any kind of feebleness in (taking appropriate) measures will result in intensifying the enemies’ attacks." The lawmaker further said that the Zionists and Western governments, through planning and propaganda, want to say that the current economic problems of the country is caused by internal factors so as to save themselves from the Iranian nation’s rage; but they should know that the Iranian nation undoubtedly, like the past three decades, will thwart the global arrogance’s sinister plots through perseverance and will defend the cause of the martyrs./end
