Envoy Highlights Iranˈs Commitment To Support Syria

Tehran, March 6, IRNA – Iranˈs Ambassador to Syria Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani highlighted Iranˈs commitment to support the Syrian nation and help them meet their essential needs. In a meeting with the Syrian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Jihad al-Laham, he described implementation of President Bashar Assadˈs initiative as a major step in line with the countryˈs national unity. Laham, for his part, appreciated Iranˈs support for Syria and dispatch of humanitarian aid. He presented a report on Syrian parliamentˈs activities to start political dialog between the government and opposition groups. Underscoring the solidarity between the Syrians and the army against the terrorist groups, he added that recent victories originated from national solidarity. National reconciliation and solidarity will help establish peace and stability for the onset of political talks, Laham noted.
