Envoy:Inspectors Will Be Allowed Into Parchin After Signing Modality

Moscow, May 19, IRNA – Iranˈs Ambassador to Moscow Reza Sajjadi said after signing modality protocol, Iran is ready to permit IAEA inspectors to visit Parchin Site. Sajjadi made the remarks in an interview with Itar-Tass News Agency on Saturday, adding that IAEA inspectors have already inspected the site completely. He further said that IAEA has declared that they want to inspect the site again. Iran has extensive cooperation with International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and IAEA inspectors have inspected Iranˈs nuclear centers for 5 thousand person/day. Iran has declared that Parchin is not a nuclear center, so the inspectors are not allowed to inspect there. Sajjadi said Iran proposed the agency to sign modality protocol, in which all vague problems of Iranˈs nuclear program have been explained. He added that in return, Tehran expects that Iranˈs nuclear dossier be closed in the UN Security Council. Sajjadi also said that Iran is not committed to stop uranium enrichment and close Fordow site. Meanwhile, he underlined that Iran does not intend to build a nuclear weapon at all. The ambassador also expressed Iranˈs readiness to host another round of meeting between Syrian government and its opponents in Tehran. He added that the meeting can be held in foreign ministry level or their deputies. Iran has invited 30 countries, especially Iraq, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Algeria for this meeting, the envoy continued. In the meeting, issues concerning approaches to peaceful settlement of Syrian crisis and ways to attract oppositions to sit at negotiation table would be discussed. The envoy said that Iran will support Russia to hold an international conference on Syria./end
