Erdogan: problems in Syria and Mid-East are global not regional

ISTANBUL (A.A) - November 17, 2011 - Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that the problems in Syria and Middle East were not regional but global problems. Thus, we have to take immediate measures to stop bloodshed for the sake of not only energy supply security but also global peace and solidarity, added Erdogan who spoke at the opening of the Third Black Sea Energy and Economic Forum organized by the Atlantic Council in Istanbul on Thursday. Noting that painful incidents in Libya gave important lessons, Erdogan said that unfortunately some countries saw only oil wells in Libya, and ignored human factor. World has to understand that a system which ignored human factor could not pursue its existence, said Erdogan. Global economy cannot reach prosperity, energy supply security cannot be provided, and global peace cannot be restored without giving value to human, added Erdogan. Syria might not be followed sensitively in the world as it was not rich enough in the aspect of energy resources, said Erdogan, but people who were killed in Syria were humans too, he added.
