Establishment Of Legal Institutes In Libya Based On Islamic Criteria, Essential: Boroujerdi

Tehran, Jan 9, IRNA – Chairman of Iran's Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said here on Sunday that the establishment of legal and governmental institutes in Libya based on the Islamic criteria and democracy is essential. In a meeting with a number of Libyan tribal chiefs, he congratulated them on the victory of the Libyan revolution and said that supporting freedom-seeking movements is one of the foreign policy principles of Iran. The Majlis is ready to make available its experience in the field of lawmaking to the Muslim Libyan nation, he noted. Referring to the regional uprisings in the Middle East and North Africa, he added that unlike the propaganda by the western media, regional revolutions represent Islamic nations' reactions to the global powers and their dictatorial agents. A number of the Libyan tribal chiefs described Iran as a suitable model for their country and underlined the need to strengthen economic, cultural and scientific foundation of Libya. Libya favors development of ties with Iran in all fields./end
