Ex-Lebanese President: Rouhani’s Policies Generate Hope

Beirut, Feb 3, IRNA – Former President of Lebanon Emil Lahoud described the policies of the Iranian President Hassan Rouhani as successful and said they are “very positive and generate hope”. He made the remarks in an exclusive interview with IRNA. The veteran general who served nine years as president and nine years as army commander said that the West agreement with Iran on the countryˈs peaceful nuclear program is a diplomatic success for President Rouhani. He further praised the proposed plan by the Iranian President to fight extremism and terrorism in the world unanimously adapted by the United Nations. Lahoud said the program needs practical steps to become effective. He said while terrorism keeps moving closer to us, those who are supposed to confront it are advocating it both directly and indirectly./end
