Ex UN Official Believes Iran-West Could Have Successful Talks

New York, Nov 17, IRNA – A former United Nations official said Iran and the West could have successful negotiations during the next round of talks to take place in Geneva next week. Talking to IRNA, Giandomenico Picco who served as an under-secretary general for political affairs expressed optimism towards the outcome of the nuclear talks between Iran and the G5+1. He believed that improvement of Tehran-Washington ties would help the two sides reach a nuclear agreement, noting that the meeting between the US Secretary of State John Kerry and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif during the latest round of Geneva talks was a very significant incident. He reiterated that Iran-US bilateral cooperation can pave the way for settlement of all regional crises./end
