Fifth Abducted Iranian Engineer In Syria Returns Home

Tehran, July 29, IRNA – The fifth out of seven Iranian engineers abducted in Syria last year retuned home Sunday morning after 220 days of captivity. Abdolkhaleq Sahneh and six other Iranian engineers, working for Syria's Jandar power plant 30 km south of Homs in west of that country, were abducted last year. So far, five engineers have returned home thanks to the all-out efforts of Iran's Foreign Ministry, Head of Foreign Ministry Department for Iranian Expatriates' Affairs Kazem Sajjadi said during a welcoming ceremony for the released engineer. He added that Sahneh had worked very hard for launching the Syrian power plant. Sajjadi expressed hope that the two other remaining kidnapped engineers (Hassan Hassani and Pejamn Boyeri) would be released soon./end
