FINANCE MINISTER MEETS IFC DELEGATION

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Finance J.Erdenebat Tuesday received a visiting these days delegation, headed by Mr Vivek Pathak, the International Finance Corporation’s (IFC) Director for Asia and the Pacific affairs. The Minister thanked the IFC for helping Mongolia in implementing long-term developmental goals and asked the IFC to give a support to Mongolia for bringing our key sectors such as mining and agriculture into the world’s standards and to expand the cooperation with Mongolia. The delegation backed these suggestions and emphasized that for the both sides it is important to discuss an expansion of the IFC’s actions in concrete fields of Mongolia. The IFC also said that it decided to continue activities in Mongolia in agriculture, banking, finance, industry and communication spheres. Moreover, delegation stressed that the IFC adheres to a position to support the Oyu Tolgoi project and to give it finance together with other investors.
