Finance Minister works in Istanbul

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Minister of Finance Ch.Ulaan worked Thursday in Istanbul city of Turkey, meeting with Mr Ahmet Selamet, a First Deputy head of the Citizens’ Representative of the city. Mr Ahmet talked about a development of his country, its prospects and then introduced to the Minister the administrative structure of Istanbul and its functions. Mr Ulaan underlined that Istanbul has been a bridge to develop the Mongolia-Turkey relations, and emphasized an important role of recently opened Istanbul-Ulaanbaatar direct flights in forwarding the ties. He said the Mongolian sides wants a support from Turkey in establishing the General Consulate in Istanbul. At the meeting, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to Turkey Mr B.Batkhishig expressed opinions about protecting interests of Mongolians in Istanbul and cooperating in backing organizations initiated by them. Mr Ahmet supported all proposals. The same day, the Finance Minister held meetings with Ali Altintash, the Deputy Mayor of Istanbul, and with directors of the Finance and Economic departments. After this, the Finance Minister and the Ambassador met with Mongolians in Istanbul to give information on the governmental policy, decisions, on the bilateral relations and on measures of protecting interests of the Mongolians. By the visiting program, the Minister will participate in the board meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) to be held May 10-11 and in other business meetings.
