FINANCING TACKLED FOR ENERGY RESERVE

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The cabinet meeting on Monday decided to allot money of MNT 4 billion from the state budget to buy facilities for an emergency energy reserve. The Development Bank of Mongolia (DBM) has been authorized to finance a purchase of the facilities through its Representative Governing Council under the repayment term. The measure is taken due to depreciation of the biggest thermal power stations which fully provides the capital city with electricity, although the power stations have installed extra equipment of capacity augmenting. For example, the #3 thermal power station and its furnaces and turbine generators need to be renovated because it has aged over 50 years. The aging of the power stations might cause severe problems in energy and heating provision of Ulaanbaatar city, thus the money will be spent on purchasing a large-scale generator and energy distributive structures of 10 and 35 KW.
