Firouzabadi: Negotiations With US Not On Agenda

Tehran, April 10, IRNA -- Chief of Joint Staff of the Armed Forces Major General Hassan Firouzabadi said on Monday that negotiations with US has never been on the agenda of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In reaction to a memoir of former president Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani broadcast by the US media, Firouzabadi said that late Imam Khomeini had ruled out negotiations with the United States and such an issue was never raised after his demise. He said however that the critical issues constitutionally fall within jurisdiction of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution. 'Since the early days of victory of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, the US pursued hostile policy vis-a-vis Iran and God willing all its conspracies doomed.' Firouzabadi highlighted desperation of the United States with employing a variety of conspiracies to strike a blow to the Islamic Republic of Iran and said that Washington is making every effort to negotiate with Iran./end
