FIRST CONSULTATIVE MEETING OF NUCLEAR-WEAPON-FREE ZONE RUNS

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/ The Central Asian Nuclear-Weapon-Free Zone countries together with our nuclear experts, who are participating in the UN Disarmament Commission (UNODA) in New York, ran their first consultative meeting on October 20 in the central headquarters of the UN. The gathered shared information and opinions on the regional security issues and introduced to each other their activities aimed at having five nuclear states guaranteed their statuses. Kazakhstan representative informed the gathered about a decision to build two nuclear power stations on its territory. The Mongolian representatives presented our country's commitment to forwarding its "free of nuclear weapons” status on the regional and international levels and requested more information from Kazakhstan on the construction of the stations.
