BANGKOK, March 3 (TNA) -- Foreign Affairs Minister Don Pramudwinai has reiterated to a United Nations senior officer on Thailand’s political situation presently, saying that it is being developed and smooth in line with the government’s roadmap laid earlier. In his Wednesday’s discussions with Luc Stevens, UN Resident Coordinator and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Thailand Resident Representative, the two men talked about warm relations enjoyed by the kingdom and the global agency which has been cherished some 70 years. Mr Don told journalists that he had told Mr Stevens on Thailand’s politics and reform set by the current military government, aimed at further developing the country in future. The UN understands situation in this country, said Mr Don, adding that Mr Stevens also noticed development in several areas in the country and the strong determination of Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha toward drafting the charter for the benefit of the country. According to Mr Don, the UN officer was also willing to assist Thailand in every field. Although issues on human rights and freedom were not raised during the talks, Mr Don said he had told Mr Stevens that people in Thailand could still live a normal life while the government provided sufficient welfare to migrant workers from Thailand’s neighbouring countries which could be hardly found in other countries.
