FM Davutoglu tells Danish counterpart Sovndal Turkey expects permanent closure of Roj TV

ANKARA (A.A) - January 11, 2012 - Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu phoned his Danish counterpart Villy Sovndal on Wednesday. Davutoglu's phone call came after a Danish court made a decision Tuesday in which it fined Roj TV a monetary penalty for having ties to the terrorist organization PKK and for making propaganda of the terrorist organization. The court did not shut down Roj TV as it did not have the authority to do so under Danish laws. In his phone conversation with Villy Sovndal, Davutoglu expressed that Turkey expected the permanent closure of Roj TV in Denmark. Diplomatic sources said that Davutoglu reminded Sovndal about the details of the case against Roj TV and conveyed Turkey's views on the Danish court's verdict. Davutoglu stressed that Turkey still expected Denmark to permanently shut down Roj TV after Tuesday's court verdict.
