FM Discusses Regional Situation With Kazakh Counterpart

Tehran, Sept 3, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif, in a telephone conversation, discussed regional situation, especially Syria, with his Kazakh counterpart Erlan Idrissov. According to the report of Foreign Ministry Media Department on Monday, Zarif condemned use of chemical weapons by anyone and for any purpose. He called for publication of imminent results of the research by the UN inspection group in Syria. The Kazakh FM, for his part, called for continuation of mutual consultation in the future. The two sides, by underlining illegitimacy of any kind of military intervention in Syria, called for international efforts to find a political solution to stop violence and persuade both sides to settle their problem through dialog./end
