FM Impressed By ‘Salvation’ Expo

Tehran, Sept 17, IRNA - Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif visited a visual arts exhibition titled ‘Salvation’ prior to departing Tehran for New York. A total of 80 well-known artists have showcased their works in the expo which focuses on the innocent people of Gaza Strip. Zarif said, “I was impressed. I think anybody who has visited the expo, has been impressed by the works. Those who have a better understanding of art will definitely be further moved by viewing them. I feel as if these artists are showing a real understanding of the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza Strip.” The expo has displayed six decades of pain and agony of the Palestinians and citizens of Gaza, he noted. “The event indicates the closeness and familiarity of Iranian artists with the people of Gaza Strip. The artworks expose the extent to which Zionist regime’s crimes in Gaza have influenced Iranian people and hurt their feelings.” Zarif stressed that the works are also indicative of the fact that Gaza citizens’ pain is borderless and understandable to every person world over. Referring to the efforts of the Western media in ignoring Gaza peoples’ agony and innocence, he said the works on display also show the degree to which the Western media have distorted the reality about the Zionist’s crimes in Gaza Strip. The fair opened at Niavaran Cultural House on September 12 and will continue until October 13. Ali Moradkhani, deputy culture and Islamic guidance minister, as well as Abbas Sajjadi, managing director of Niavaran’s Artistic Creations Foundation, accompanied Zarif on his visit to the expo.
