FM: Iran, G5+1 to resume talks Wednesday evening

Tehran, Sept 17, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced that the fresh round of talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany) will begin in New York on Wednesday afternoon. 'The first round of negotiations between Iran and G5+1 within the framework of the 7th Round of nuclear negotiations will start at the presence of EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton this afternoon,' Zarif, who is in New York, said. 'Before the high-level meetings of the 69th Annual Meeting of the UN General Assembly, we will hold bilateral and multilateral meetings with representatives of the G5+1,' the Iranian foreign minister added. He noted that first meeting will take place with Ashton and then the bilateral talks will continue. Zarif also pointed to a meeting of political directors of the G5+1, and said, 'The meeting of the G5+1 will take place on Friday.' 'We will also hold meeting with several groups in New York which are slated for coming days and before the visit of President Rouhani to New York,' he added./end
