FM: Iran receives US message, will take steps within country's red lines

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian said on Saturday that Iran has received the US’ message and will take steps within the red lines of the Islamic Republic. Following a meeting with the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Iran's top diplomat made remarks on the negotiations surrounding the removal of the imposed sanctions. Amirabdollahian, at the head of a high-ranking delegation, arrived in the Armenian capital on Thursday (October 20). Iran will not make any concessions to the American side, he said, noting that the country will take actions based on the logic and within the framework of the agreement considering the red lines of the Islamic Republic He went on to say, “We will never leave the negotiating table.” A message has been received from the US three days ago, he said, adding that the Americans are in hurry to reach the agreement point with Iran. While Americans continue to exchange their messages with Iran, they are seeking to fan the flames of the issues that have taken place inside Iran, he said. He said that the US was after piling political and psychological pressure on Iran to force Tehran to make concessions in the talks. Commenting on statements by US officials who said that talks on the removal of sanctions are off the agenda, he pointed out that Americans’ remarks and actions contradict each other.The agency's accusations against Iran's nuclear program should be resolved, he said, adding that Iran received a message from the US three days ago.Iran will not make an agreement in which the IAEA will politically pressure the country, he noted. “We will not make any concessions to the American side,” he reaffirmed.
