FM Jean-Yves Le Drian: Azerbaijan and France enjoy excellent economic relations

French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Yves Le Drian has hailed his country`s economic relations with Azerbaijan.
Speaking at a press conference following his meeting with Azerbaijani Foreign Affairs Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, the French FM said the two countries enjoy excellent economic relations. “There are good prospects in many areas of economy. We are holding negotiations to consolidate the economic ties in a number of fields.”
The French FM also commented on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, saying the status quo cannot be considered as an option of settlement.
Le Drian also said: “My visit coincides with the centennial celebration of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic. This year the presidents of Azerbaijan and France are expected to pay reciprocal visits, which bears testimony to the high level of relations between the two countries.”
FM Mammadyarov said they discussed the ways of developing Azerbaijan-France relations in political, economic and other areas as well the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
